About
Dr. Rebecca Grier is an applied experimental psychologist specializing in human factors with over 10 years experience in social science research, system design and evaluation, as well as project management. She has primarily worked in the defense sector, but also has experience in telecommunications and web applications. Her research spans the following areas: human computer interaction, attention, cognitive workload, stress, military cognitive readiness, and cross-cultural modeling and understanding.
Prior to joining the Institute for Defense Analyses, she was the acting Technical Warrant Holder for Displays and Controls at the Naval Sea System Command and the Human Systems Integration Lead for the Aegis system. She has also been the Lead Scientist for Human Automation Interaction and Design at Aptima, an Engineering Psychologist at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, and in the Human Factors Group at SBC Technology Resource, Inc. (now known as AT&T Labs).
She has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Human Factors/ Experimental Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. Honors in Psychology from Loyola University, Chicago.
